Front Porch I'm A Huge Fan Austin Texas Giclee Art Print
"I'm A Huge Fan" © Bonnie Feaster Chapa
Created from an original photo Bonnie Feaster Chapa took in Austin, Texas, December 2012.
My husband and I were in Austin, New Years Day 2013, walking down San Jacinto Blvd headed back to our hotel when we crossed the street and there was this long front porch area at the Vince Young Steakhouse. (in the South, my South anyway, anything long and out in front of a building where you can sit is a “front porch”, even at restaurants and businesses).
It was a dull dreary day, the place was closed and all I could think was, “What a great porch!”
The original photograph was all gray tones. In my mind, I could imagine this porch alive, full of people, music, fun…what Austin is all about.
On New Years Day, we all begin again. A new year with new opportunities. The colors on this front porch rise like the sun, actually in reverse, all new and ready to touch your eye. New opportunities, while reflecting on old (the reverse of the color spectrum usually represented with the rising sun). I’m a huge fan of new opportunities, because I can always reflect on where I came from to be where I am at that moment. It’s like going forward while going back, but never staying still.
